Introducing our advanced Laparoscopy Camera, the Ridge-9200, equipped with a touch screen and inbuilt video recording functionality. This camera system ensures high-definition (HD) or even 4K image resolution, enabling the capture of still and video images during laparoscopic surgeries. The camera is a crucial component of the laparoscopy equipment, providing sensitivity in both the visible and infrared spectrum.

 

The optical image is transmitted from the surgical site to the camera head through a range of rigid and flexible scopes. The system consists of a camera control unit (CCU) and a camera head with a built-in cable that connects to the CCU. The camera features a zoom lens, allowing for continuous adjustment of image magnification. Automatic adjustments such as lens aperture and white equalization enhance the image quality.

 

For HD endoscopy in laparoscopic operations, the Ridge-9200 offers 1080p60 (1080p at 60fps) image acquisition and display, providing superior visual clarity for surgeons. The progressive scanning technology enhances temporal resolution, making it ideal for capturing fast-paced objects and creating quasi-3D images. This enables surgeons to visualize anatomical structures that may be hidden in flatter standard definition (SD) images.

 

Similar to optical systems in entertainment technology, the camera lenses produce circular images. However, laparoscopic surgery requires viewing on a monitor screen that fills the entire display with the surgical image. To achieve this, wide-screen image acquisition with a 16:9 aspect ratio is employed. This widens the horizontal field of view while reducing the vertical field of view. The telescopic positioning can be adjusted slightly to compensate for the loss in vertical field of view. Additionally, a wider field of view minimizes debris and smoke accumulation on the front window of the telescope, resulting in improved image quality.
